Monster Hunter Freedom 2
August 6th, 2007 by jp received 2 Comments »It seems like Monster Hunter Freedom 2′s translation is getting some early recognition.
On 1up Yours, Mark MacDonald was kind enough to mention that he thought the translation was good, specifically mentioning the work I had done on the Felynes within the new village of Pokke.
IGN also mentioned the translation in their piece on MHF2 at E3:
“Capcom has Freedom 2 on display at their E3 booth and the game looks almost complete — the translation was good and connectivity was completely functional.”
This is the longest and most trying project I’ve worked on, so the early mentions of the translation, albeit humble, are encouraging.
Please feed my unborn children by pre-ordering the game.
You can also pick up a plush Piggie toy by pre-ordering from Gamestop/EBGames.

That’s pretty cool to hear. I’m sure you don’t really get to hear that kind of praise too often being that most of the work you do is translation. But this along with the work you did on parts of Phoenix Wright-j4a definitely stand out. It’s one thing to get praise for a graphically superior game, but it is completely something else when they specifically mention the dialog (again, even more so when it is translation).
I’ll be picking this up for sure. ^_^
Thank you very much! I’m glad you loved Moe Curls and co., and I hope you enjoy Freedom 2… I wish I could make the game more popular in the US, but that will take some time. BTW – I checked out your blog, and if you are who I think you are, please say hi to Jeff S and thank everyone else for supporting MHF in its many iterations.
